About Paul J. Ray Jr.

Paul Ray is an Associate Professor of Archaeology and Old Testament at the Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary of Andrews University, Berrien Springs, Michigan; the director of archaeological publications at the Institute of Archaeology, Andrews University; and the associate curator of the Horn Archaeological Museum, Andrews University. Dr. Ray holds a Ph.D. in Near Eastern Archaeology from Andrews University. He has served in various capacities on archaeological excavations in Jordan, Israel and Sicily for over 30 years, has authored or edited three books, contributed articles and essays to a number of books and journals, and recently served 15 years as the editor of the journal Near East Archaeological Society Bulletin.

Dr. Ray was formerly a missionary to Uganda, teaching Old Testament and Biblical Languages at Bugema College. He has traveled extensively throughout the Middle East and the Eastern and Western Mediterranean.
