I am a microbiologist interested in genomics, biofilms, and horizontal gene transfer. I work with soil bacteria as well as gut microbiome components to understand how microbes interact with one another, and how their community structures evolve. I am currently investigating novel antimicrobial agents produced by bacteria in several environments, and am starting a project on the roles of Toxin-Antitoxin systems in genomic architecture and biofilm formation.
