About Ozcan Tunalilar

Dr. Tunalilar received his Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Florida in 2016. His current work focuses on families, resident well-being, health inequalities, and measurement issues in community-based care and nursing homes. He has published peer-reviewed articles and research letters at journals such as Journal of the American Medical Directors Association, Journal of GLBT Family Studies, and Gerontology and Geriatric Medicine as well as numerous technical reports. He served as co-investigator for grants and contracts totaling over $400,000. He has been an associate editor of Journal of Family Issues since 2015. He is currently involved in multiple projects:
  • Oregon Community Based Care Project
  • Resident VIEW Project - Nursing Homes and Community-Based Care
  • Administrator Turnover in Assisted Living and Residential Care Facilities in Oregon
  • Measuring Quality through Complaints and Inspections Data in Assisted Living
