About Nicholas E. Hagemeier

Nicholas (Nick) E Hagemeier, PharmD, PhD, is Associate Professor at the Gatton College of Pharmacy, East Tennessee State University. He earned his Doctor of Pharmacy degree and MS and PhD degrees in Pharmacy Practice from Purdue University. He is a licensed pharmacist with 9 years of experience in chain and independent community pharmacy settings. Dr. Hagemeier is Co-Investigator of the $2.2 million NIH-funded Diversity-promoting Institutions Drug Abuse Research Program at ETSU and is PI on one of the core projects focused on prescription drug abuse interprofessional communication. He is Research Director of ETSU’s Center for Prescription Drug Abuse Prevention and Treatment.  He also serves as director of the College of Pharmacy’s Community Pharmacy Practice Research Fellowship. He has published 30 peer-reviewed manuscripts and 4 book chapters/sections. He coordinates the Pharmacy Law and Ethics, Personal Finance, Pharmacy Leadership Forum, and Pharmacy Practice Research/Scholarship courses in the College of Pharmacy. Dr. Hagemeier has been awarded both the outstanding teacher of the year award and research award for the College.
