About Naushira Pandya

Dr. Naushira Pandya is an Associate Professor and the Chair of the Department of Geriatrics at Nova Southeastern College of Osteopathic Medicine. She is also the Medical Director of the State Veteran's Nursing Home in Pembroke Pines, FL. In addition to teaching geriatrics to medical students, fellows in Geriatrics, and Family Medicine residents, she has an active nursing home and ambulatory care practice in Geriatrics and Endocrinology. Previously, she has worked with the Arizona Long-Term care system, served as an assistant Professor at the University of Missouri, Kansas City, and as a geriatrician at William Beaumont Hospital in Detroit.

Dr. Pandya is the Principal Investigator and Project Director of the recent federally- funded Geriatrics Education Center at NSU. She is a reviewer for geriatrics journals and has published in the areas of diabetes, osteoporosis, hypopituitarism, and anemia in the elderly.

She is the Chair of the American Medical Director's Clinical Practice Guideline Steering Committee, and past Chair of the Clinical Practice Committee. She has been instrumental in writing clinical practice guidelines on the Management of Diabetes in the Long-term Setting, Osteoporosis, and the Pharmacological Treatment Guideline for Depression in the Long-Term Setting. She is on the Education Committee and a board member of the Florida Medical Director's Association.

She earned her medical degree at the University of London, England. She completed her Internal Medicine residency at Maricopa Medical Center in Phoenix, and her fellowship in Geriatrics and Endocrinology at the University of Michigan. She is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Geriatrics, and Endocrinology.
