About Mustafa Hitit

Dr. Mustafa Hitit is a postdoctoral researcher in the Cooperative Agricultural Research Center (CARC) at the College of Agriculture and Human Sciences (CAHS) of Prairie View A&M University (PVAMU).
 
He earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree (DVM) from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Ataturk University, and his Ph.D. in medical genetics from the Faculty of Medicine at Selcuk University in Türkiye. Prior to joining to PVAMU, a postdoctoral researcher, he conducted original research in the Laboratory of Animal Functional Genomics in the Department of Animal and Dairy Sciences at Mississippi State University, USA, and served as an Assistant Professor with research, teaching, and service appointments at Kastamonu University in Türkiye.
 
His primary research has been in the molecular reproduction of domestic animals encompassing gene regulation during early pregnancy related to endometrium and luteolysis. With knowledge and skills in male fertility including sperm functional genomic biomarkers for sperm (chromatin, metabolomic and lipidomic approach), he is passionate about fundamental and applied research in animal food animal reproduction and immunology in the Animal Systems at CARC. He is also interested in connecting the research mission with those of teaching and extension at CAHS.
