About Michelle Allyn

Michelle Allyn, PT, DScPT, is an Assistant Professor and Curriculum Coordinator in the School of Rehabilitation Sciences, College of Health and Human Services at Andrews University. She became full-time faculty in May 2018 after working as a physical therapist in a variety of clinical settings most recently in a hospital-based outpatient orthopedic clinic. Michelle received a Bachelor of Science in Anatomy and Physiology in 1993, a Master of Science in Physical Therapy in 1994, and a Doctor of Science in Physical Therapy in 2020 from Andrews University. Her clinical area of expertise is in orthopedic manual therapy. She became an American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) Certified Clinical Instructor in 2013. Michelle is College and University Teaching Certified. Michelle has been dedicating her scholarly agenda to developing a functional performance test for the back and investigating perceived barriers to using active learning in the classroom. She is a member of the APTA Orthopedic and Education sections, and the International Association of Healthcare Practitioners.
