About Michelle Alexia Clark

Overall research goal is to better understand the molecular mechanisms involved in blood pressure regulation, so that improved therapeutic interventions can be developed to treat hypertension and other cardiovascular diseases.

My research is in the area of pharmacology and neuroscience, specifically determining the role of the central and peripheral renin-angiotensin system (RAS) in the control of hypertension and other types of cardiovascular diseases. More recently, the role of the RAS in other diseases has been shown. Thus, I am also collaborating with the Deth and Trivedi laboratory to study the interaction of the Dopamine system and the RAS in Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.
