About Melissa Henley

Prior to Washington Adventist University, Professor Henley was an adjunct professor at Miles College in Birmingham, AL as well as Humber College in Toronto, Canada.  She has extensive experience working as a Foster Care Social Worker, a Therapist working with children and families, and as a Clinical Director of a program for grieving children.  Additionally, she has served on various boards of directors whose emphasis was to enhance and empower the community.  She is the Founder of a non-profit organization for at-risk adolescent girls.  Perhaps one of her most proud accomplishments was being a Foster Parent for teenage mothers and their babies.
