About Md Salahuddin, Ph.D.

Dr. Md Salahuddin completed his Bachelor of Science, followed by a Master of Science from Bangladesh Agricultural University, Bangladesh. His MS's research focused on the impact of transportation stress on meat quality, providing significant insights into the field. After his MS, Dr. Salahuddin joined the Bangladesh Livestock Research Institute (BLRI) as a scientific officer, where he developed a profound interest in intestinal biology. This interest led him to pursue doctoral studies at Shinshu University, Japan, focusing on the gastroenteropancreatic system, particularly the impact of dietary nutrients on enteroendocrine cells and the intestinal mucosa of chicken. Dr. Salahuddin further advanced his research career as a research associate at Shinshu University in Japan, studying the effects of dietary nutrients on immune cells in the intestines. He then moved to the United States for a postdoctoral position at Oklahoma State University, where his research centered on food bioactive components in metabolism, gut immunity, and gut microbiota and their implications for chronic diseases. Currently, Dr. Salahuddin is a postdoctoral researcher at the Poultry Center within the Cooperative Agriculture Research Center at Prairie View A&M University. His work is primarily focused on innovative poultry nutrition, exploring sustainable feed additives and alternatives to conventional growth promoters to optimize costs and reduce the environmental impact of agricultural by-products.
