About Maya Conway

Maya Conway, M.Public Health, M.Speech Pathology, is a Research Fellow in the Assessment and Reporting program at the Australian Council for Educational Research.
Maya is an experienced researcher, project manager and Speech-Language Pathologist with qualifications in Public Health and Speech-Language Pathology. Maya’s research work has been focused on child development, child language, literacy and learning outcomes for vulnerable populations and disadvantaged communities. She is a skilled academic writer and has led and contributed to numerous academic articles, literature reviews and peer-reviewed publications featuring these topics. Maya also has experience teaching in tertiary education sector for the Master of Speech Pathology program at Griffith University. Maya has international community development expertise and has managed research projects in India, Nepal, Kyrgyz Republic, and the Philippines, collaborating with community development teams, educators, and government partners on projects focused on improving health and education outcomes for children. Since joining the Primary, Early Childhood and Inclusive Education team at ACER, Maya has also contributed to numerous domestic and international projects focused on education policy and system reform, educational assessment, and disaster impact evaluation.
