About Dr. Matthew Hurt

After taking courses at Parkland College in the 1980s, I eventually earned a PhD in American Literature from the University of Illinois in 2000 and returned home, joining the faculty at Parkland in 2003. Since then I have taught Writing, Literature, and Film courses. In 2017, I took on the role of faculty chair of the Humanities Department.
