About W. Mark C. Weidemaier

Mark Weidemaier is the Ralph M. Stockton, Jr. Distinguished Professor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. His research focuses on the intersection between contracts and dispute resolution in domestic and international settings, as well as issues related to the structure and enforcement of government debt. He blogs about these subjects on Credit Slips. Representative publications are available for download on the Social Science Research Network and the Berkeley Electronic Press. At UNC, Weidemaier teaches Contracts, Government Borrowing and Restructuring, Commercial Arbitration, Litigation Risk Management, and Advanced Litigation Practice.

After graduating from the University of Minnesota Law School, Weidemaier clerked for the Honorable Dolores K. Sloviter on the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. He then practiced law in the complex commercial litigation group at Dechert LLP in Philadelphia and worked at the School of Government at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is a graduate of Carleton College in Northfield, MN.
