About Mark A. Gathany, Ph.D.

Dr. Gathany teaches introductory and advanced ecology courses, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and Environmental Ethics. He also conducts research with undergraduate students investigating all things "ecological" including soil microbiology, habitat restoration, and animal populations. He is the campus representative to Au Sable Institute and serves as the faculty advisor to the student organization Earthwise. Through these organizations, he encourages environmental stewardship on campus and within the community using sound biblical principles and science.
