Dr. Cooper graduated from University of Leeds UK, and completed residency training in General surgery at Texas A & M and in Cardiothoracic Surgery at the University of Wisconsin. He worked at the University of Pittsburgh under Dr. Thomas E. Starzl and completed a PhD in Immunology. Dr Cooper has a General Thoracic surgery practice including robotic thoracic surgery and treats all surgical aspects of lung cancer, esophageal cancer and chest malignancy. He also performs a wide range of interventional bronchoscopy including cryosurgery, and localization of small nodules not amenable for biopsy by other means. Dr Cooper is certified by the American Boards of Surgery and Thoracic Surgery.
