Professor of Economic Policy
Mario Pianta is Full Professor of Economic Policy at the Scuola Normale Superiore, Classe di scienze politico-sociali, Florence, on leave from the University of Urbino Carlo Bo, and President of the 'Istituto di studi avanzati Carlo Azeglio Ciampi' of the Scuola Normale. He is President of the Società Italiana di Economia (SIE) and co-chief editor of the journal Structural Change and Economic Dynamics (Elsevier). He has been a member of the Centro Linceo Interdisciplinare “Beniamino Segre”, Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei (Italian Academy of Sciences) in 2011-2014, Fernand Braudel Fellow at the European University Institute, Visiting scholar at the Centre for International Studies, London School of Economics, Chercheur invité at CRPS, Université Paris 1, Panthéon Sorbonne and Research fellow at Columbia University.
