About Lucas M. Alward

Starting at Boise State University in 2022, Dr. Lucas M. Alward is currently an Assistant Professor with the Department of Criminal Justice. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Central Florida, an M.A. in Political Science and a B.A. in Criminal Justice both from California State University, Chico.  Dr. Alward’s research focuses on community and institutional corrections, procedural justice and legitimacy, prisoner re-entry and desistance, and the implementation of evidence-based practices. He is currently a reviewer for such journals as Justice Quarterly, the Journal of Criminal Justice, and Criminal Justice and Behavior to name a few. Dr. Alward is currently member of the American Society of Criminology and the Academy of Criminal Justice Science.
