About Lisa Lieberman

Faculty Expert: Adolescent and Pre-Teen Health, Smoking

Dr. Lisa Lieberman is a Professor of Public Health, whose research focuses on adolescent and children's health issues, with particular focus on sexuality, teen pregnancy prevention, and tobacco and substance use. Her extensive research includes studies on a wide range of sex education programs and approaches, including both comprehensive sex education and abstinence-focused programs. She has evaluated school-based pregnancy and HIV prevention programs in New Jersey, New York, Georgia and South Dakota. She served as the evaluator for the countywide Rockland Department of Health Comprehensive Tobacco Program for ten years, was an evaluation consultant to the U.S. Office of Population Affairs, chaired the New York State Office of Children and Family Services Research and Evaluation Workgroup, and evaluated programs for pregnant and parenting teens in the New York City foster care system.
