  • 2004 - 2005, Jean Monnet Fellowship to the Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies at the European University Institute. Fellow in the European Forum on Universities and Innovation Systems. Florence, Italy.
  • 2002, Award for Scholarly Contribution from Administrative Science Quarterly , for “I nterorganizational Collaboration and the Locus of Innovation: Networks of Learning in Biotechnology,” as the best article published in the five years previously. With Walter W. Powell and Kenneth W. Koput.
