About Kenneth J. Petersen

Arriving at Boise State in the summer of 2014, Dr. Kenneth J. Petersen is the Dean of the College of Business & Economics. Dr. Petersen received a Ph.D. in Operations and Sourcing Management from Michigan State University in 1999, an M.B.A. in Management from the University of Akron in 1994, and a B.S. in Finance and Economics from the University of Alabama in 1988. Coming to us from the University of Tennessee where he was a John H. “Red” Dove professor of Supply Chain Management, he was also the director of the university’s Supply Chain Forum. While a professor Colorado State University he helped develop the “Global Social and Sustainable MBA” program there, in which a number of students within the program are from developing countries and are likely to use the information learned to establish enterprises within their home countries. An accomplished writer with 29 published academic articles, as well as a books on global supply chain management, Dr. Petersen continues to strive to unite the academic and business worlds by looking for opportunities to create partnerships with commerce. He is also currently a member of the advisory board for the International Conference on Sustainability, Ethics, and Entrepreneurship (SEE) and is an associate editor for such journals as the Journal of Business Logistics.
