About Katherine Hinic

Dr. Katherine Hinic is an Assistant Professor in the Graduate Department. Her areas of nursing practice and education include maternal-newborn nursing and adult primary care. Dr. Hinic has practiced as a maternal-newborn nurse, lactation counselor, and nurse educator in the area of maternity and women's health. Additionally, she has served as an adult nurse practitioner in primary care, with a primary focus in women's health. Dr. Hinic holds numerous national certifications including: Clinical Nurse Leader from the American Association of College of Nursing, Adult Primary Care Nurse Practitioner from the American Nurses Credentialing Center, Maternal Newborn Nurse from the National Certification Corporation, and Clinical Nurse Educator from the National League for Nursing. Her areas of research include health promotion in new mother-infant dyads and evidence-based practice.
Dr. Hinic maintains her clinical practice in research and quality improvement at a nearby medical center. Dr. Hinic is passionate about working with the students at the College of Nursing and helping to prepare them for and advance their careers as professional nurses and advanced practice nurses.
