About Karin Keith

Karin Keith is an associate professor in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction at East Tennessee State University in the Clemmer College. She also coordinates the Masters of Arts in Teaching program. She received her Ph.D. in Language and Literacy Education from the University of South Carolina. Her research interests include teacher professional development in literacy studies with a focus on literacy integrated with disciplinary content, how language facilitates learning, classroom discourse analysis, action research, and ethnographic study. 

Dr. Keith has been published in a variety of peer-reviewed journals including The Reading Teacher, The Journal of Literacy Research, Illinois Reading Council Journal, Southeast Regional Association of Teacher Educators Journal, Reading Matters, The Tennessee Reading Teacher, Query, and a number of edited volumes. She also serves as a reviewer for The Journal of Teacher Education. Additionally, Dr. Keith is a campus representative for the Institutional Review Board.
