About Karen F. Munoz

Dr. Karen Munoz is an associate professor of audiology and audiology division chair in the Department of Communicative Disorders and Deaf Education at Utah State University. Dr. Munoz is a certified audiologist and licensed in the state of Utah. Her professional background includes 20+ years of clinical experience in pediatric audiology and dissemination of scholarly research on topics related to childhood hearing loss through publications and presentations. Through her affiliation and role as the associate director of the National Center for Hearing Assessment and Management at Utah State University, Dr. Munoz has provided mentoring and technical assistance to professionals involved in the early identification and management of hearing loss at the state, national and international levels. Her research interests include contemporary issues in early hearing detection and intervention, graduate student training and professional development activities that lead to the implementation of evidence-based practice, interdisciplinary collaboration for maximizing outcomes for children with hearing loss.
