About Karen J. Haley

Karen Haley, EdD, is an associate professor and program coordinator for the Postsecondary, Adult, and Continuing Education (PACE) program and coordinates the Student Affairs certificate.

She completed a bachelor’s in mathematics from Washington State University, a master’s in student personnel administration from Western Washington University, and a doctorate in higher education administration from North Carolina State University. Her student affairs experience includes work in orientation, residence life, career services, and retention.

Her scholarship focuses on underrepresented students' career choices and pursuit of graduate level education. Her background also includes a number of professional positions in student services: new student programs, career advising, residence life, and institutional retention.

Dr. Haley has also worked in publishing and bookstore management in the private sector. Her primary research interests are student learning within a student affairs context, graduate student development, and the faculty career path.
