About Kara Ireland D'Ambrosio


Dr. Kara Ireland D’Ambrosio is a lecturer in music education, supervisor for student teachers & MA Advisor for Teacher Education master projects at San Jose State University. She also teaches general music and choirs at Woodside School (K-8 program) where she earned a Grammy Gold Award for Excellence in Music Education. She has a Bachelor of Music Education from the University of New Hampshire, Master’s in Music Education from Holy Names University in Oakland, and Doctorate in Musical Arts from Boston University all degrees in Music Education. She has also earned her National Board Certification in Music Education. In 2011, she was awarded the CMEA/Peripole-Bergerault General Music Educator Award from the California Association for Music Education. Dr. Ireland D'Ambrosio also teaches and facilitates online courses at Boston University.
