About Kaitlin Bowers

Kaitlin Bowers, DO, FACOEP, FAAEM serves as an adjunct assistant professor of Emergency Medicine.
 
Dr. Bowers earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry from the University of Dayton where she also served her collegiate community as an emergency medicine technician. She continued her medical education training at Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her emergency medicine residency at OhioHealth Doctors Hospital in Columbus, OH where she served as chief resident. During her residency, Dr. Bowers was the creator of a medical education track for senior residents interested in teaching. During her final year in training Dr. Bowers received the Honor of Outstanding Emergency Medicine Resident of the Year awarded by the Ohio Chapter of the American College of Emergency Physicians. 
 
After completing her residency, Dr. Bowers practiced at Hilton Head Hospital in Hilton Head Island, SC. Dr. Bowers joined Campbell University School of Osteopathic Medicine in 2020. She serves as the Education Director for Wake Emergency Physicians at UNC Health Johnston and Nash UNC Health Care where she also precepts Campbell medical students. Dr. Bowers is creator and Editor in Chief of Med Student Over Easy a more than medicine podcast designed for medical students with an interest in Emergency Medicine. She also serves as Lead Editor for the blog Academic Life in Emergency Medicine. Her interests include medical education, simulation, gender diversity, and match rates.
