About Julie Rutledge

In general, my research has focused on the social development of children in 2 contexts: family and peers. In the context of family, my research has looked mostly at parenting, especially in at-risk settings (e.g., low-income, rural). Outcomes of interest have been child obesity and sociomoral development. In the context of peers, my research has looked at physical aggression, relational aggression, and a newly developed construct which looks at children's use of relationships to attain a goal without the use of aggression.
