About John Duvall

John Duvall, Ph.D., is Associate Professor of Communications at Dominican University of California. He is the author of "Savage Messiah: Ken Russell’s Forgotten Masterpiece"; "Elemental as Mythic and Existential Parable"; and the book The Environmental Documentary: Cinema Activism in the 21st Century. His Ph.D. thesis was entitled Peak Oil and Transition: The Making of a Documentary Video. John previously worked in motion picture sound effects post-production in Hollywood, and is a graduate of the USC Cinema Program.
