About John Ely

Research, Scholarly, and Creative Interests:

Has spent a number of years studying and teaching in eastern Europe.

This past January, led a group of St. Mary's students to study for
a month in post-Ceaucescu Roumania, Hungary and Czech Republic.

He is also leading an effort to establish a
Criminal Justice Minor at Saint Mary's which would look at issues of
social control, gangs, penology, deviance and the sociology of law.
