About Joel Peckham

Joel Peckham is an Associate Professor of Regional Literature and Creative Writing at Marshall University. He has published eight collections of poetry and nonfiction, including Bone Music (SFAU, 2021) and Body Memory (New Rivers, 2016). Individual poems and essays have appeared in many literary journals and anthologies, including Prairie Schooner, The Southern Review, The Sugar House Review, Cave Wall, The Beloit Poetry Journal, and The Sun. With Robert Vivian, he is co-editor of the anthology, Wild Gods: The Ecstatic in Contemporary Poetry and Prose (New Rivers, 2021). As a scholar, his articles on 20th Century American Literature have appeared in American Literature, Texas Studies in Literature and Language, The Midwest Quarterly, and the Southern Literary Journal. His monograph, Outraged and Amazed: Transgressing the South in William Faulkner's Absolom, Absalom! appeared from Cambridge Scholars in 2018.
