About Joanne Clarke Dillman

My work is on the intersection of issues of gender, class and power in American visual culture, with an emphasis on film.
My book, "Women and Death in Film, Television and News: Dead But Not Gone," was published in November, 2014.

I teach a variety of film classes at UWT including Feminist Perspectives in Film & Literature, Media Genres: Conspiracy Thrillers, Cinema, Time and Memory, Silent Cinema, and Introduction to Film Studies. I also teach Introduction to Screenwriting.

In addition to teaching in the School of Interdisciplinary Arts & Sciences, I have taught in the IIGE's Global Honors Program, and was Associate Director here from 2021-2023. I have also worked in the CORE Program for incoming students.
