Jiwei Xiao is Professor of Modern Languages and Literatures (Chinese) at Fairfield University. Her essays and articles were published in New Left Review, NYRB, Film Quarterly, Cineaste, MCLC, Critique: Studies in Contemporary Fiction, and other journals and magazines. She is always interested in interdisciplinary research subjects and methods. Her reading of Chinese “fiction of details” (xijie xiaoshuo) in Telling Details: Chinese Fiction, World Literature (Routledge 2022) was inspired and informed by her study of cinema and visual culture.
