About Jillian Plummer

Jillian Plummer is an assistant lecturer in the Catholic Studies Department of the College of Arts and Sciences at Sacred Heart University. She has a MSt in Modern British and European History from the University of Oxford and a PhD in U.S. History from the University of Notre Dame. She has also been the recipient of the Andrew W. Mellon Fellow in Religion and the Woodrow Wilson Fellowship in Women's Studies. Her research interests include religion in the Americas, study of the U.S. empire. the global sixties and gender and women's history. Jillian's dissertation entitled Saving Latin America: Catholic Sisters and the Cultural Cold War, 1959-1979 explores many of these research themes.
