About Jill Purdy

Dr. Jill Purdy is Associate Vice Chancellor of Undergraduate Affairs at the University of Washington Tacoma and a Professor of Management in the Milgard School of Business. She earned her doctorate in Business Administration with a focus on management and sociology from Pennsylvania State University. Dr. Purdy previously served as Interim Dean of the Milgard School of Business and as Chair of UWT’s faculty government. She also held the position of Academic Director of the Center for Leadership and Social Responsibility, and founding Director of the Milgard School’s MBA program.

Dr. Purdy’s scholarly interests include collaboration, organization theory, institutional dynamics, and social responsibility. She is currently studying the emerging ecology for social enterprise in the Pacific Northwest U.S. and co-authoring a book on collaboration for Oxford University Press. Her research appears in such journals as Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Business Ethics Quarterly, Public Administration Review and the Journal of Higher Education.
