About Jill Purdy

Dr. Purdy earned her doctorate in Business Administration with a focus on management and sociology from the Pennsylvania State University. Her scholarly interests include organization theory, collaboration, power, and social responsibility. Her recent work focuses on cross-sector partnerships, entrepreneurial ecosystems and social entrepreneurship. She is co-author with Barbara Gray of Collaborating for Our Future: Multistakeholder Partnerships for Solving Complex Problems from Oxford University Press. Her research appears in such journals as Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Business & Society, Organization Theory, Business Ethics Quarterly, Public Administration Review and the Journal of Higher Education.

Dr. Purdy previously served as Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Associate Vice Chancellor for Undergraduate Affairs, Interim Dean of the Milgard School of Business and Chair of UWT’s faculty government. She also served as Academic Director of the Center for Leadership and Social Responsibility, and was founding Director of the Milgard School’s MBA program.
