About Jill Purdy

Dr. Jill Purdy is Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs at the University of Washington Tacoma and a Professor of Management in the Milgard School of Business. She earned her doctorate in Business Administration with a focus on management and sociology from the Pennsylvania State University. Dr. Purdy previously served as Associate Vice Chancellor for Undergraduate Affairs, Interim Dean of the Milgard School of Business and Chair of UWT’s faculty government. She has also served as Academic Director of the Center for Leadership and Social Responsibility, and founding Director of the Milgard School’s MBA program.

Dr. Purdy’s scholarly interests include organization theory, collaboration, conflict management and social responsibility. She is co-author with Barbara Gray of Collaborating for Our Future: Multistakeholder Partnerships for Solving Complex Problems from Oxford University Press. Her research appears in such journals as Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Business Ethics Quarterly, Public Administration Review and the Journal of Higher Education.
