About Jihyun Lee

Dr. Jihyun Lee is an Associate Professor in the Department of Kinesiology at San Jose State University. She earned her B.S. in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Physical Education and her M.S. in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Exercise Physiology from Seoul National University, South Korea. Dr. Lee also holds a doctorate in Physical Education Teacher Education with a concentration in Adapted Physical Activity/Education from the Ohio State University. Her research investigates the effects of physical activities on behavioral changes in children with developmental disabilities and factors to create more physical activity opportunities for individuals with disabilities. Dr. Lee has directed multiple adapted physical activity programs for individuals with disabilities in local communities using evidence-based approaches. Her published articles aim to understand the complex interactions of multiple variables on children to assist them and their families in increasing their quality of life through physical activity. She is also a strong advocate for inclusive higher education for young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and has been actively involved in multiple initiatives to provide inclusive social and educational experiences for young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities on the SJSU campus.
