About Jessica Wells

Dr. Jessica Wells joined Boise State University in 2017 and is currently an Assistant Professor with the Department of Criminal Justice. She earned a Ph.D. and M.A. in Criminal Justice and Criminology both from Sam Houston State University, and B.A. in Criminology & Criminal Justice and English from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale. Her primary research interest lies in biosocial criminology with specific interests in molecular genetics and gender. Dr. Wells is actively involved in a collaborative behavior genetics project, developing skills to genotype DNA samples for behavior genetics use. She is a reviewer for the Journal of Qualitative Criminology, the Journal of School Violence, and Criminal Justice and Behavior, and is currently a member of the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences, the American Society of Criminology, and the Biosocial Criminology Association.
