About Jennifer Lam

Jennifer Lam is an assistant professor in the Department of Surgery at Western University, and a pediatric surgeon at the Children's Hospital (LHSC).



Dr. Lam completed her undergraduate and medical degree at Western University. She subsequently trained at the University of Calgary for her general surgery residency and pediatric surgery fellowship. Dr. Lam spent a year in Edmonton as a locum pediatric surgeon at the Stollery Children’s Hospital and a clinical lecturer at the University of Alberta. She then returned to Calgary to pursue a surgical research fellowship with the EQuIS (Efficiency, Quality, Innovation and Safety) Research platform focusing on clinical quality improvement initiatives and implementation science while concurrently obtaining a Master’s of Science in Healthcare Quality through the George Washington University. Dr. Lam has joined the Division of Pediatric Surgery at the Children’s Hospital at LHSC in 2020 as a pediatric general surgeon and assistant professor with Western University.


Dr. Jennifer Lam completed her general surgery residency and pediatric surgery fellowship with the University of Calgary, and medical school at Western University. She is joining EQuIS as a Master's Student and Research Fellow, and will be contributing to multiple current EQuIS projects including neonatal and pediatric oncology ERAS, and the pediatric surgical safety checklist. She is also investigating the innovative use of 3D body scans to objectively measure the severity of pediatric pectus deformities.
