Emeritus Professor
Emeritus Professor Jared Brown was the School of Theater Arts director from 1989-1999 and a full time teacher from 1989-2002. Dr. Brown still teaches at IWU occasionally today. He is the author of six books, numerous articles and book contributions, and has penned several plays. Dr. Brown remains active in local theatre, working with the Heartland Theatre Company in Normal, Ill. Several of his plays have been performed by the company. Dr. Brown was awarded Illinois Wesleyan’s top teaching honor in 1997, the DuPont Award for Teaching Excellence (now the Kemp Foundation Award for Teaching Excellence).
