About Dr Jane Jarvis

Dr Jane Jarvis PhD University of Virginia; M.Psych.Ed University of Queensland; PG.Dip.EdStudies (Psych) University of Queensland; B.A.(Psych) University of Adelaide is a Principal Research Fellow at ACER. She holds a PhD in Educational Psychology from the University of Virginia and worked for 13 years as an academic in inclusive education at Flinders University, where she remains an Adjunct Associate Professor. Jane developed and taught undergraduate and postgraduate courses related to designing differentiated learning experiences, multi-tiered systems of support for inclusive education, supporting children with learning difficulties, and teaching academically gifted students, including within the early childhood inclusive education/ disability studies double degree she co-developed. Jane’s research career builds on diverse professional experience as a teacher, specialist educator, counsellor, behaviour support practitioner and school leader, across specialised education, gifted education, and disability services, in Australia and the United States.
