About Ian Walsh

My research centers on the themes of
persistence and regeneration. I am particularly interested in how organizations and their members hold on to valued characteristics and recreate social contexts to preserve and sustain them.
I use qualitative and quantitative methodologies to
explore questions concerning the role of social identity, sensemaking, and leadership in
experiences of organizational change. My current work specifically examines the context of
organizational demise and its generative role in
fostering constructive outcomes.
