About Hunter Shobe

Hunter Shobe is a cultural and urban geographer and an Associate Professor in the Department of Geography at Portland State University. He has a PhD in Geography from the University of Oregon. His research and teaching explores the cultural and political dimensions of how people connect to and create meaning in different places. He is a co-author of Portlandness: a cultural atlas and author of academic publications in journals including Urban Geography, National Identities,and Soccer and Society.
