About Hugh McClean

McClean joined the faculty as Assistant Professor and Director of the Bob Parsons Veterans Advocacy Clinic in 2016, where he directs student attorneys in the representation of veterans in a wide variety of litigation and legislative initiatives.

Prior to joining the faculty, McClean directed the legal writing program in the Department of Law, U.S. Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, Colorado, where he received the Outstanding Academy Educator Award in 2010. He also taught Law for Air Force Officers, which examined the American and military justice legal systems and selected foundational constitutional rights. He served as a legal advisor to the Air Force Academy Honor Board which oversees violations of the Honor Code and twice received the Case Legal Advisor of the Year Award.

McClean served in the U.S. Air Force Judge Advocate General Corps from 2003 to 2014 and held positions as a prosecutor, defense attorney, law professor, and assistant general counsel. Prior to his commissioning, McClean served as a public defender in Lake County, Ohio. McClean received his LL.M. from The George Washington University Law School, where he was the recipient of the Patricia A. Tobin Government Procurement Law Award for his academic achievement and scholarship in the area of government procurement law.

McClean is a member of the Ohio and Maryland bars.
