About Hope E. Jennings

Hope Jennings was born in Brooklyn, New York, and grew up in the Catskills. She studied film and stage acting at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy and graduated from Hunter College, C.U.N.Y. with a B.A. in Interdisciplinary Honors and British Literature. She lived in Scotland for five years, earning a PhD in English from the University of St. Andrews, and now lives and works in Dayton, OH where she is an Associate Professor of English and Program Director of Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at Wright State University. She teaches classes in contemporary and postmodern British literature, feminist theory, gender and genre studies, and women's writing. Essays and criticism have been published in Interdisciplinary Humanities, Margaret Atwood Studies, and Angela Carter: New Critical Readings (Continuum). Current research and book projects include Apocalypse, Trauma, and Utopia in Contemporary Literature, and a co-authored historical fantasy series. Her debut novel, Nostalgia, is a fictional biography of the modernist poet Mina Loy and will be published in December 2015 by Anti-Oedipus Press.
