About Mehnaz Parvez (aka Geeta Deka), MBBS, MS

Geeta Deka is an Assistant Professor at St. Catherine University in the Master of Physician Assistant Studies program. She is a Physician and an educator with more than 18 years of experience in hospitals, clinics and educational institutions. She brings in a blend of career experience from India and US. Her clinical background is working as a General Practitioner and as a house surgeon in women’s health & internal medicine. Her research focus is global health, infectious disease and innovative teaching education and is currently  working on a project that is assessing the knowledge, attitude and practice about Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation among nurses in a tertiary hospital of Kohima, the capital city of Nagaland, a northeastern state in India. Geeta teaches Anatomy, Physiology and other clinical content topics in the program.
