About Eric Gish

Dr. Gish joined the Campbell University School of Osteopathic Medicine family in June of 2017 as the Associate Dean for Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (OMM) Integration and Associate Professor in the Department of Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine. Additionally, he became the Program Director for the Osteopathic Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine Residency program in May 2019.

A 1990 cum laude graduate from Southwestern Oklahoma State University College of Pharmacy, Dr. Gish practiced pharmacy for 3 years prior to matriculating into the University of North Texas Health Sciences Center at Fort Worth – Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine (UNTHSCFW-TCOM).

Dr. Gish began his career in academics as a Teaching Assistant and as an Undergraduate Teaching Fellow in OMM at UNTHSCFW-TCOM. Upon graduation in 1998, Dr. Gish was awarded the Wayne O. Stockseth Award for excellence in OMM and the Bristol-Myers Squibb Award for Sports Medicine. Dr. Gish completed a family medicine residency at Suncoast Hospital in Largo, Florida in 2001 and was awarded the Resident Instructor of the Year Award for his teaching of OMM integration.

After leaving a successful private practice, Dr. Gish helped to establish two osteopathic medical schools by serving as founding Chair of the Department of OMM at Rocky Vista University College of Osteopathic Medicine (RVUCOM) as well as founding Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs at Liberty University College of Osteopathic Medicine (LUCOM). He engaged in all phases of curricular development at both institutions including a 7 campus clinical campus system which spans 3 states. 

In 2012, Dr. Gish completed the Health Policy Fellowship sponsored by Ohio University and AACOM. He has been active in state and national policy through serving as a member of the AOA House of Delegates, a board member of the Colorado and Virginia osteopathic medical associations, President of the State Chapter of the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians, and is involved state and national committee work. He continues to serve as an examiner for the American Osteopathic Board of Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine and as a member of the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians Residency In-Service Exam and osteopathic education committees.

When not at work, Dr. Gish enjoys spending time with his wife Connie, his son Michael. Other interests include music, photography, fly fishing and other outdoor activities.
