About Erhard Gallos

Erhard Gallos is an assistant professor of Religion at Andrews University. He joined the faculty in 2008 and teaches New Testament courses, Greek, Ethics, Hermeneutics, and The Gift of Prophecy.
His theological training began at Marienhoehe, Germany in 1988. Graduating with a BA in Theology, he then pursued his Masters of Arts in Religion from Newbold College in 1994. In the fall of 2000 he came to the United States to continue his education in the PhD program of the Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary at Andrews University with an emphasis on the New Testament. He completed his PhD after defending his dissertation on the Sabbath-rest of Hebrews 4.
Before coming to Andrews University for his PhD, Erhard also served as a pastor for six years in North-Rhine Westphalia in the district of Muenster and Krefeld where he was also ordained as a pastor in 1997.
In addition to being a passionate teacher and student of God’s word, Erhard loves spending time with his family. Whenever he has the opportunity, he enjoys nature while water skiing, snow skiing, and sightseeing in the national/historical parks.
Erhard is married to Irmgard (Lutsch) Gallos and they have teenaged twins Dorothea and Christiane.
Gallos is continuing to research the Epistle to the Hebrews. His current research topics include: The Impossibility of Repentance in Hebrews 6:4-6; The Willful Sin in Hebrews 10:26; Creation ex Nihilo in Hebrews 11:3; etc.
