About Emily Ruskovich

Emily Ruskovich is an assistant professor with the Department of Theatre, Film, and Creative Writing since 2016. She earned her M.F.A. in Creative Writing specializing in Fiction from the University of Iowa, and her M.A. in English from the University of New Brunswick in Canada. Ms. Ruskovich’s most recent publication Idaho: A Novel is listed on the L.A. Times Bestseller list and is a shortlisted finalist for the Dylan Thomas International Prize, The Edger Allen Poe Award for Best First Novel, and the New York Library’s Young Lion’s Awared. Her short story Owl was selected for the 2015 O. Henry Prize. While Ms. Ruskovich's specialty is fiction, but she also has experience writing and teaching both poetry and non-fiction, as well as writing and editing screenplays.
