About Emily Blanck

I research the history and memory of slavery. My primary current project is a study of the spread of Juneteenth in America as the primary emancipation holiday. I am also collaborating with Prof. Jennifer Rich looking at teacher education and history, in particular the pedagogy of 'contested histories.'
