About Emily Barth

Emily Barth, Ph.D. is Lecturer in Chemistry at Sacred Heart University. Dr. Barth is published in industry peer-reviewed journals; Journal of the American Chemical Society, Chemistry Solutions and ACS Catalysis. She is also a recipient of the Kenneth B. Wiberg Research Fellowship from Yale University. Dr. Barth's research interests include chemistry education research including differences in retention, perseverance, and perception of belonging between students taking chemistry courses at primarily undergraduate institutions and R1 institutions and organometallic chemistry.
Emily has also been involved in many science outreach activities, including the American Chemical Society Science Coaches program and the development of a chemistry magic show for elementary and middle school students. 

Dr. Barth completes a M.S. and Ph.D. in Chemistry from Yale University and B.S. in Biology from Florida Gulf Coast University.
