About Elsa Loftis

Elsa Loftis joined the PSU library faculty in 2018 as the Humanities and Acquisitions Librarian. She is the subject liaison to the College of Art + Design, and the World Languages and Literature departments. Prior to her arrival at PSU, she was the Director of Library Services for the Oregon College of Art and Craft, worked as the librarian for Everest College, held positions at the Brooklyn Public Library, the Brooklyn Museum Library and Archives, and the Pratt Institute Library. She received her MLIS from the Pratt Institute, and her BA in International Studies at the University of Oregon. 

She is committed to professional service, for example, demonstrated during tenure as president of the Oregon Library Association (2017-2018), and current service on the Art Libraries Committee for the International Federation of Library Associations (IFLA). 
Her research interests include trends in acquisitions specifically in the realm of streaming media, sustainable collection development, art librarianship, and information literacy instruction.
